Take-Two Interactive has recently indicated that it “would fully expect” to back the upcoming Nintendo Switch 2, although more details remain under wraps for now.
The renowned third-party publisher has been a strong presence on the original hybrid console, delivering beloved titles like BioShock: The Collection, Borderlands Legendary Collection, and XCOM 2 Collection. Fans have also enjoyed Grand Theft Auto: The Trilogy – The Definitive Edition, New Tales from the Borderlands, LEGO 2K Drive, and more recently, the likes of NBA 2K25 and Sid Meier’s Civilization VII.
CEO of Take-Two Interactive, Strauss Zelnick, shared insights during their Q3 2025 earnings call, saying, “We’ve maintained a long-standing partnership with Nintendo. Our strategy has always been to support their platform when it aligns with our releases. There were times when Nintendo catered mainly to younger audiences, which influenced our launch decisions.”
He continued, “But with today’s Nintendo Switch and the forthcoming Nintendo Switch 2, these consoles cater to a broader audience. As you’ve seen, Sid Meier’s Civilization VII is now available on the Switch. While we don’t have specifics to share at the moment, we absolutely anticipate supporting Switch 2.”
