The remake of Silent Hill 2 released last year significantly contributed to a 32% increase in Konami’s video game revenue for the nine-month period ending in December 2024. During this period, the company reported its video game division earning ¥228.9 billion, roughly $1.4 billion, while profits surged by 44.6% to reach ¥80.8 billion, or about $521 million. This performance exceeded Konami’s projected profit target of ¥80 billion for the entire fiscal year.
The Digital Entertainment segment, responsible for video game development, accounted for 73.6% of Konami’s total revenue, a rise from 68.5% in the same time frame the previous year. Konami highlighted the Silent Hill 2 remake as a significant factor in its financial success, with the game shipping two million copies by January 2025 after its release in October 2024.
Additionally, the company’s eFootball series has achieved over 800 million downloads, further showcasing Konami’s strong presence in the gaming industry.
