Polish game developer People Can Fly is once again diving into the Gears of War universe. The studio recently announced on its website that it’s joining forces with Xbox first-party studio The Coalition to work on the upcoming Gears of War: E-Day. They’ve got history with the franchise, having led the development of Gears of War: Judgment in 2013 and assisted with the original trio of games in this sci-fi shooter series.
Sebastian Wojciechowski, the CEO of People Can Fly, shared his excitement about this new collaboration. “Jumping back into this iconic series is both an honor and a thrilling opportunity to amplify the intense action and deep storytelling fans cherish,” he said.
Expressing gratitude, Wojciechowski added, “We sincerely appreciate the trust and support from our partners on this journey.”
Echoing this sentiment, Mike Crump, head of The Coalition studio, remarked, “Gears of War: E-Day isn’t just another major release for us; it’s a return to the essence that makes Gears of War games special and genuine. We’re thrilled to partner with the talented team at People Can Fly, who have been key players in our franchise’s history for so long.”
It’s worth noting that People Can Fly went through some tough times, with over 150 jobs slashed in 2024, but their commitment to the Gears of War series remains strong despite those challenges.
