Capcom has exciting news for fans of classic games: Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny, originally a hit on the PlayStation 2, is getting a fresh remaster for the Nintendo Switch.
This direct follow-up to Onimusha: Warlords was a massive success upon its original release, selling 2.1 million copies worldwide and earning the title of the series’ best-selling installment.
The story introduces us to a new hero, Jubei Yagyu, who embarks on a personal quest for vengeance. His character design pays homage to Yusaku Matsuda, an iconic Japanese actor who rose to fame in the 1980s.
While the remaster preserves the original game’s setting and core gameplay mechanics, it enhances the experience with a host of modern features and improvements, tailored for today’s gaming consoles.
Gamers will be able to get their hands on Onimusha 2: Samurai’s Destiny when it launches digitally on the Nintendo eShop for Nintendo Switch in 2025.
