NVIDIA has rolled out a fresh hotfix for its GeForce drivers, aiming to tackle those pesky display problems along with a bug affecting GPU temperatures.
In what seems like an unprecedented move, NVIDIA has unleashed a flurry of hotfixes for their drivers, reflecting the challenges they’ve faced with the software support for the RTX 50 series GPUs. To be honest, I’ve lost track of how many have been released already. But here’s the latest: a new hotfix driver, v576.15, which homes in on several issues. It mainly aims to fix the display crashes that appeared with the original v576.02 driver, in addition to addressing a quirky temperature sensor bug. This bug affected GPU voltages and clock speeds inadvertently.
Here’s what the hotfix attempts to rectify:
– On the RTX 50 series, some games might have shadow flicker or corruption after updating to GRD 576.02 [5231537].
– Lumion 2024 would crash on GeForce RTX 50 series cards when switching to render mode [5232345].
– GPU monitoring tools could cease showing temperature readings after waking from sleep [5231307].
– Some games on the RTX 50 series may crash during shader compilation post-GRD 576.02 update [5230492].
– GeForce RTX 50 series notebooks might display a black screen when resuming from Modern Standby [5204385].
– Random V-SYNC micro-stutters in SteamVR could occur when using multiple displays on the RTX 50 series [5152246].
– A noted decrease in idle GPU clock speeds post-update to GRD 576.02 on the RTX 50 series [5232414].
Although the display glitches in NVIDIA’s RTX 50 drivers were known for a while, the temperature sensor bug was a new discovery. It seems that GPU temperature readings went awry, especially after a system woke from sleep, possibly due to temporary power interruptions. This malfunction was quite a nuisance for many, but thankfully, the latest hotfix has tackled it, at least for the time being.
You can easily get your hands on the GeForce Hotfix display driver version 576.15 and see if it effectively addresses those display crashes and temperature sensor hitches. Give it a shot and see if it turns things around!
