Minisforum recently pulled back the curtain on its next-gen lineup of AMD Ryzen-powered products, featuring a brand-new MoTD and Mini PC, both boasting the powerful Ryzen 9 9955HX, dubbed "Fire Range."
Two Fresh Additions by Minisforum: Meet the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX "Fire Range" MoTD & Mini PC
At the bustling "Japan IT Spring Week" event, Minisforum captured attention with its cutting-edge products utilizing AMD Ryzen CPUs. The showcased lineup includes MoTD (Mobile on Desktop) motherboards, nifty Mini PCs, and NAS systems.
Enter the Minisforum F1FGM MoTD Motherboard – Tailored for Desktop Enthusiasts
First up, let’s dive into the Minisforum "F1FGM," a continuation of the popular MoTD series, now equipped with a blazing new CPU. Featuring a sleek mATX form, the motherboard is decked out with robust heatsinks on the VRMs, M.2 slots, PCH, and even a snazzy IO cover. This board steps up from the BD770i and BD790i series by incorporating the Fire Range "Ryzen 9000HX" CPUs.
With the MoTD, users can configure systems featuring the AMD Ryzen 9 9955HX CPU, a 16-core, 32-thread powerhouse based on the Zen 5 architecture with clock speeds shooting up to 5.4 GHz. A notable 64 MB of L3 cache and a default power draw of 55W make it stand out, and enthusiasts can crank it up to 160W for a premium experience.
Different CPU configurations, including an "X3D" option, are on offer. Cooling is taken care of with a setup mounted on a vapor chamber baseplate, catering to the mobile CPUs’ lack of an integrated heat spreader. A strong 13-Phase Duet rail design 60A SPS power stages power the VRMs.
The motherboard supports four DDR5 DIMM slots, allowing users to cram in up to 256 GB of RAM and achieve incredible speeds up to 8000. The chipset, X870M, mirrors mobile-grade design and aligns closely with the B850 series. Dual PCIe slots (5.0 x16 & 4.0 x16) and three M.2 slots, one accommodating Gen5x4 speeds, along with two SATA III ports and the latest IO features like USB4, 5GbE LAN, and WIFI7, round it off. Plus, BIOS debugging is simplified with two DEBUG LEDs.
Meet the Mighty Minisforum MS-A2 Mini PC with "Fire Range" Firepower
Another gem in the lineup is the compact MS-A2 Mini PC, sporting AMD Ryzen 9000HX "Fire Range" CPUs. Building on the MS-A1 series’ legacy with Ryzen 8000G CPUs, these Mini PCs integrate the latest IO features. Look forward to three M.2 slots—one convertible to U.2—and lightning-fast 10 GbE LAN via an SFP+ port. A PCIe 4.0 x8 slot accommodates low-profile cards.
This Mini PC motherboard has its quirks—the dual SO-DIMM slots support up to 96 GB at speeds of 5200 MT/s. The array of IO includes 2 USB 3.2 Gen Type-C, 2 more USB 3.2 Gen 2, a USB 2.0, dual 10 GbE LAN ports, Wi-Fi 6E, Bluetooth 5.0, and options for DP+HDMI output.
Powerful Strix "N5 PRO" NAS for Robust Storage Solutions
Last but not least, meet the Strix-driven "N5 PRO" NAS, equipped with the formidable AMD Ryzen AI 9 HX 370 CPU, boasting 12 cores and 24 threads alongside a Radeon 890M iGPU. The NAS offers five 3.5-inch bays supporting RAID configurations and sports a tool-free design for easy drive swaps. It can feature up to 48 GB of DDR5 SO-DIMMs, with a PCIe 4.0 x4 slot ready for video enhancements.
Each bay accommodates up to 22 TB, complemented by three PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots (2x Gen4x1, 1x Gen4x2). For network interface, there’s a 10 GbE and a 5 GbE Ethernet port alongside IO options like three USB 3.2 Gen1 ports.
The anticipation builds as Minisforum gears up to release these innovative solutions soon. Stay plugged in for further updates!
