Acer has rolled out six exciting new models under its Radeon RX 9070 series, including both standard and overclocked versions that offer impressive boost clock speeds of up to 3.1 GHz.
Acer has taken the wraps off its latest offerings in the RDNA 4 GPU lineup, revealing the BiFrost and Nitro editions of the Radeon RX 9070 XT and RX 9070. Acer, a familiar name yet less frequent player among AMD’s board partners, has delivered a robust six-model suite this time around, splitting them evenly across two flagship GPUs.
In this lineup, you’ll find two Nitro editions dedicated to the Radeon RX 9070 XT and Radeon RX 9070, alongside a pair of BiFrost editions for each GPU. The BiFrost models are all about top-notch aesthetics and cooling performance, while the Nitro line offers a solid balance of performance and affordability, aimed at mainstream gamers but without compromising on specs.
Kicking off with the BiFrost models, the Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB is designed to stand out with its triple-fan cooling system. It’s dressed with a sleek shroud accented with silverfish designs around the center fan. The cooling prowess is enhanced by the FrostBlade 4.0 ringed fans and a counter-spin system that optimizes heat dissipation. Measuring about 295 mm in length and occupying a 2.5-slot space, this card is factory-tuned to hit up to 3.1 GHz, making it a formidable contender for high-performance gaming.
The Acer BiFrost Radeon RX 9070 OC 16 GB mirrors its sibling in design but sticks to two 8-pin power connectors, in contrast to the three found on the XT version. Interestingly, both share a 340W power rating, even though the RX 9070 naturally requires less juice. While these connectors can theoretically cover the 340W load, they don’t leave much room for the kind of overclocking potential the RX 9070 XT OC offers.
Switching gears to the Nitro series, Acer provides both overclocked and standard options for its RX 9070 cards. The Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC sports the same triple-fan setup as the BiFrost, clocking in at a substantial 3.1 GHz with a compatible 2.5-slot build and identical length. It chugs power from three 8-pin connectors and demands 340W of TDP as well. Meanwhile, the standard Nitro RX 9070 XT consumes slightly less at 304W but still uses the same triple 8-pin framework. Without the overclocking, it maxes out at 2970 MHz for boost and sits comfortably at 2.4 GHz during gameplay.
Next up, we have the Acer Nitro Radeon RX 9070 OC and its non-overclocked twin at 16 GB, revving up to heart-pounding speeds of 2.7 GHz and 2.52 GHz respectively. The OC variant requires 245W, while its more conservative counterpart demands 220W—all delivered in a uniform design.
Pricing is another highlight, with Acer revealing the Nitro Radeon RX 9070 XT OC 16 GB comes with a hefty price tag of $829.99. It’s anticipated that the BiFrost version will be even pricier. While we await the full pricing list and release dates for the entire lineup, the Nitro RX 9070 XT OC is set to hit the US market in April.
