It’s been over six weeks since the release of MachineGames’ incredible Xbox action-adventure game, Indiana Jones and the Last Circle, and players are grappling with a significant bug that’s preventing them from advancing and completing the much-coveted Indiana Jones and the Great Circle achievements. This major hiccup, which essentially grinds the game to a halt, continues to be a thorn in the side for many enthusiasts eager to explore the game’s full potential.
Urgently Needed Fix for Indiana Jones and The Great Circle
Many players are running into a troublesome bug within Indiana Jones and The Great Circle, particularly during The Blessed Pearl mission. This bug restricts Indiana Jones from climbing ladders, scaling vines, and navigating through narrow openings. The developers at MachineGames are reportedly aware of this predicament. As much as I adore Indiana Jones and the Great Circle—one of my top picks from last year, no doubt—the problem within The Blessed Pearl storyline on the Sukhothai level has completely stalled my progress, and I’m not alone.
This odd bug pops up during a nerve-racking cave sequence where Indiana Jones must maneuver through a tight space to proceed. Strangely, this glitch only occurs on the Sukhothai level, isolating this section of The Blessed Pearl mission from the broader area, effectively trapping players. While you might think fast travel could be a savior here, unfortunately, it doesn’t help. You can change locations, but the inability to climb or squeeze through tight spots follows, frustratingly keeping you stuck.
The bug is highly annoying and, for me, enough to make me shelve the game until a patch arrives. Although MachineGames offers a solution in the form of reverting to a previous save, this isn’t much help either: two out of my three save slots suffer from the same glitch, and going back to the third would mean losing significant progress, including treasures unearthed beneath Vatican City’s streets.
According to a Reddit post, the bug seems linked to the character Sunan and may also be tied to the Lost in the Past side quest. If you make sure to speak with Sunan one last time after completing the fieldwork and handing over the golden hook, you might avoid losing the crucial abilities to climb and shimmy. Miss this, and The Blessed Pearl might just turn into an inescapable trial.
For those encountering this issue, luck may be on your side if you have a save to rollback to. Revisiting Sunan could help you untangle this mess and complete the Lost in the Past quest as intended. However, if you’re in the same boat as me without a fitting save point in sight, patience is your only ally until MachineGames releases a patch.
Since this gripping adventure launched more than a month ago, several other bugs remain unresolved alongside this game-stopping glitch. Among them are problems with transmitting radio frequencies to Gina, the tricky cog wheel puzzle, and securing certain collectibles. The holiday season might have caused a delay in MachineGames managing these fixes, but here’s hoping an update is just around the corner. I’m itching to dive back into the adventure.
