Nintendo has made it clear that exclusive games will play a pivotal role as it prepares to introduce the Nintendo Switch 2 to the world.
This revelation surfaced in response to an inquiry from a shareholder. The question centered on whether Nintendo would continue to roll out new games for the current Nintendo Switch after its successor hits the market.
Nintendo’s president, Shuntaro Furukawa, addressed this by saying, “We’ve already announced Pokémon Legends: Z-A and Metroid Prime 4: Beyond as slated releases for the Nintendo Switch in 2025. Given the substantial number of people still enjoying the Nintendo Switch, we aim to keep producing captivating titles. However, exclusive titles will be fundamental when it comes to the debut of new hardware. We’re exploring ways for both the Nintendo Switch and the forthcoming Switch 2 to bring our games to the broadest audience possible.”
For those eager to catch a glimpse of the new console, a special Nintendo Direct presentation focusing on the Nintendo Switch 2 is scheduled. It will air on Wednesday, April 2nd, at 6 am PT, 9 am ET, 2 pm BST, and 3 pm CEST.
The Nintendo Switch 2 is poised for a global release in 2025, though the exact date is still under wraps.
