Day-One PS5 Game Launching on PS Plus Extra and Premium in Summer 2025

This year is shaping up to be quite exciting for PlayStation Plus Extra and Premium subscribers. As part of the Game Catalog perk, a total of four games are set to make their debut on the platform. Among these is Remedy Entertainment’s intriguing entry into multiplayer first-person shooters, FBC: Firebreak, which has announced a new release window targeting Summer 2025.

Set in the mysterious confines of The Oldest House, the iconic setting from Remedy’s award-winning game Control, FBC: Firebreak is switching things up. Instead of the narrative-heavy experience that fans may be familiar with, Remedy is steering the spotlight toward gameplay in this venture. They’re aiming to create a live-service game, thoughtfully avoiding the fear-of-missing-out elements that often plague such games. Instead, they’re offering all playable content free of charge, allowing players the freedom to engage at their own pace.

The newly released trailer gives us a glimpse into the Paper Chase Job, one of the engaging missions within FBC: Firebreak. In this mission, the Firebreak Initiative finds themselves cleansing a section of The Oldest House overrun by rogue sticky notes. The trailer also teases us with a look at the varied loadouts players will wield as they fend off the persistent Hiss threat.

Come launch day, FBC: Firebreak will be available to play on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC. You can snag it through the Epic Games Store or Steam.
