A film adaptation of the newly released game Split Fiction is on the horizon, according to a report from Variety. The production responsibilities have landed with Story Kitchen, the team that previously supported the adaptation of Hazelight’s earlier game, It Takes Two, now progressing under Amazon’s wing. This team is also known for working on projects like Toejam and Earl, Slim Rancher, and Vampire Survivors.
Negotiations appear to be bustling, with “multiple top Hollywood studios” expressing high interest in the project.
Making waves since its launch in March, Split Fiction impressively hit the one million sales mark within just 48 hours, and quickly doubled that within its first week of release.
Hazelight took to Bluesky to express their astonishment, exclaiming, “Holy crap, we’re blown away! Simply amazing.” They extended their gratitude to both new and long-time players, sharing their joy in the fans’ enthusiasm for the game.
Meanwhile, the It Takes Two movie is already drawing attention with Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson onboard and a screenplay crafted by Sonic the Hedgehog writers Pat Casey and Josh Miller.
