According to recent updates, there’s been a slight change in the timeline for the launch of the RTX 5060 series graphics cards. Initially expected to hit the shelves earlier, they will now be delayed by a few weeks.
In a shuffle of plans, it seems the GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is now slated to debut in April, while the RTX 5060 should follow about a month later. Right before NVIDIA unveils the GeForce RTX 5070, the buzz about the RTX 5060 series hitting delays has been getting louder. Originally, these GPU models were rumored to arrive on the market by March and available for purchase in April, but the schedules have evidently shifted again.
Though the exact reasons for the postponement remain under wraps, Board Channels has confirmed that NVIDIA has informed its board partners of this adjustment. Even though NVIDIA hasn’t officially announced the release dates for the RTX 5060 series yet, the speculation about these delays appears credible. Prior rumors of bugs and supply chain hiccups possibly contributing to the postponement haven’t been confirmed by NVIDIA either.
A reliable source within the industry has confirmed via email that NVIDIA has dispatched notifications to all AIC partners, communicating the delay of the RTX 5060 Ti and 5060 series launches. According to this communication, the RTX 5060 Ti’s variants, both the 16 GB and 8 GB, are now anticipated to be unveiled around mid-April. The regular RTX 5060 models are expected to follow in mid-May. Precise launch dates will be updated as NVIDIA provides more information.
Given this timeline, NVIDIA’s RTX 5060 series release might overlap with the introduction of AMD’s RX 9060 series. AMD’s contenders, the RX 9060 XT and RX 9060, are stepping in with their own 8 GB and 16 GB models, setting the stage for head-to-head competition with the RTX 5060 Ti equivalents. While the launch dates for AMD’s RX 9060 series are not set in stone, they too are speculated to arrive in the second quarter.
Taking a closer look at the specs, the upcoming GeForce RTX 5060 Ti is poised to replace the RTX 4060 Ti, packing 4608 CUDA Cores and either 8 or 16 GB of GDDR7 VRAM with a power draw of 180W. Its sibling, the RTX 5060, is designed to succeed the RTX 4060 with 3840 CUDA Cores, 8 GB of GDDR7 VRAM, and a 150W TDP. Additionally, some leaks point to a potential 12 GB version of the RTX 5060, which could edge out the RX 9060 if it holds true, as AMD’s model is rumored to limit options to an 8 GB VRAM variant.
