Overwatch 2 maps come with their own unique set of quirks, some of which players have managed to exploit in amusing ways. For instance, there’s a particular tree on the Esperanca Push map that’s become notorious for trapping characters, as one D.Va player hilariously found out. This map, which made its debut when Overwatch 2 launched back in 2022, isn’t new, but it still manages to surprise players with its peculiarities even years later.
The Overwatch community has been quite vocal about their dissatisfaction with the game’s monetization strategy. However, it’s hard to overlook the wealth of new content Overwatch 2 has brought to the table compared to its predecessor. From fresh cosmetics, new maps, to entirely new heroes, the game has been steadily expanding its universe. In 2024, Overwatch 2 introduced a slew of new maps, including two specifically designed for its latest Clash game mode.
Currently, with Season 15 rolled out, fans are gobbling up the new content, although there haven’t been any fresh maps in 2025 so far. A recent and particularly amusing clip shared by a player named French_Taylor, however, shows how easy it is to get trapped behind that fabled tree on Esperanca. In the clip, a baby D.Va tried to call down her mech but found herself unable to escape once suited up, her model proving too large for the narrow space.
The scenario takes a humorous turn as an enemy Reinhardt steps in, unsuccessfully attempting to destroy the mech to free D.Va. The real hero of this tale is a Lifeweaver who ingeniously uses their Petal Platform to elevate D.Va, finally setting her free. This kind of entrapment is a rarity, though, since it’s quite tricky to find oneself stuck there. Nonetheless, with certain hero abilities, like Lifeweaver’s Life Grip or Roadhog’s ultimate, other tanks or large heroes could potentially find themselves in a similar predicament.
Players have encountered glitches like this before on various Overwatch 2 maps, prompting Blizzard to sometimes issue small tweaks when necessary. If anything, clips like this serve as a fun reminder to all D.Va players to stay vigilant and keep their eyes peeled when navigating the battlefield.
